Dispelling Myths About Neck Pain

On Tuesday, April 8, 2008 a webinar was held where Dr. Scott Haldeman discussed the myths and misconceptions about neck pain. A number of media outlets attended the webinar and expressed interest. The presentation is approximately 40 minutes in length.

A project begun in 2000 at the start of the decade, the findings of the Bone and Joint Decade Task Force (BJD) on Neck Pain and Its Associated Disorders were published in the journal Spine (1.18.08) and are already impacting the manner in which neck pain is perceived, treated and studied around the world.

This blog is a great idea, but the content updates seem to be lacking. Please give us more. Oh by the way the link is hard to get due to it's size. You may want to actually create a link in the blog it's self so we just have to click instead of copy and paste.
Thanks, Dr. Duncan

I heard and was thoroughly impressed by Dr. Haldeman's presentation on the task findings at the California convention, and was surprised at the reaction of the room. Instead of hearing that spinal manipulation was as good (or better) than anything else and better than most other therapies in the most critical assessment of neck pain ever, many DCs heard only that xrays may not be an accurate window into understanding function.
From my point of view, that of strengthening posture as a path to wellness, his message gives chiropractic a logical place within the framework of mainstream healthcare.

Hi Larry -
Time to dust the cobwebs off this place. We need more responsible chiropractic voices in the blogosphere.
